Plastic Hose Clamps

    hose clamps

  • (Hose clamp) A hose clamp or hose clip is a device used to attach and seal a hose onto a fitting such as a barb or nib. A hose clamp is not the same as a pipe clamp which is a clamp made partly out of a pipe, not a clamp for clamping pipe.
  • (Hose clamp) An adjustable metal ring, wire, or band placed around a hose where it connects to a metal pipe, to prevent leaks and to keep the hose in place. Hose clamps are tightened in one of three ways. In single wire clamps, it is tightened by spring tension of the clamp.
  • (Hose clamp) Fits around the gas hose to clamp it down to fittings to prevent leaks. See Picture.

Plastic (WHAT) Radiator plug broke

Plastic (WHAT) Radiator plug broke
As I was working on the wheel stuff, John and I noticed some water under the car, dripping off the passenger side cat. Turns out one of the hoses that I installed the other day is leaking a tiny bit. I drained the system down and put a little bit longer hose in, and tightened the clamps down, and now it seems to be holding again. But when I went to put the radiator plug back in, it sheared right off. it was fun driving a 8mm allen wrench into it and then turning it out.

Just finished, after 175 hours of work, started several years ago.
This is my work bench.

I could have REALLY driven myself nuts adding photo-etched hose clamps (yes, there is such a thing, and I have them), heater hose, etc. Instead, I scratch-built a compressor for the air horn.

You can see the photo-etch grills, they fit great, and only took a few minutes.
